Squires Legacy Lot: G7 Nordhaven House

The old lot was bugged to the point of constantly crashing. Fortunately, the new 50×50 lot seems to be fine. I low key wonder if the 64×64 lots are just too big and collect too much stuff for the game to handle, who knows. Maybe in the future I’ll use 50×50 lots for legacy challenges instead and move lots periodically; They are more common as well anyway.

There are 3 rental units on this lot: The rightmost house (the yellow one) has a rental unit on each floor that houses the spares and the goths. The third rental unit (empty at the moment) is the poolhouse loft separated off to the side. I turned the loft into a rental unit to stop sims from using that kitchen, but that didn’t seem to work so I may unrentalify it….or shove more spares into it. IDK. Only the bedrooms are restricted to the legacy main family; Everything else is a shared space so that relatives can come and go as they please and socialize.

I may extend out the garden a bit to accommodate more crops. Gardening, nectar making, and other related activities have become the primary source of income this generation.

BTW: I created a museum/art gallery in Newcrest with gallery space specifically for legacy family urns and memorial portraits, so all portrait paintings and nude photos have been moved there. I may also highlight prominent painting/crafting masterpieces.

Squires Legacy Lot: G7 Pre-Move

The lot hasn’t changed too too much since the last post aside from the barn. Mostly just shuffling things around. I just patched the game and so far, it has stopped crashing? But I fully expect the issue to return, and if it does I’m just going to build a new legacy house in Nordhaven

Generation 7 Notes

I think I’m going to make the heir requirement for this generation, pink hair. Unfortunately, I don’t believe non-standard hair colors show up until sims age up until teen so, it will be a surprise! Hopefully out of the four kids that they have had, at least one gets the pink hair because I don’t really feel like dealing with more sim babies :/. I’m pretty sure Mark is a pink haired kid because he’s a blonde toddler (and neither parent is blonde)

Argh also, the legacy lot has been starting to randomly crash. I’m hoping that it’s just the lot and not my entire save. I think I may build them a new house in Nordhaven and move everyone in there if I can’t narrow down and fix the issue.

Edit: Yeah no, either the lot or the build is causing the instability I think because I am able to play other lots on the save without issues. Luckily managed to move all important things (photos, paintings, etc) into personal inventory. I’m building a house on a smaller lot that I will move everyone into. The 64×64 lot is just too big anyway….

Generation 7: Goth Offshoots and Spares

I cheated in the pregnancy for these kids, Haven’s kid being from a rando townie. I like having the legacy kids grow up with cousins that are the same age, it makes it more fun. That said, I may need to prune out the “unapproved” kids as we’re getting to the point where the town is becoming all relatives…

Younger twin set 2. I didn’t realize that science babies could have twins. I’m over the sim cap at this point so per what happened to Gwyneth, I expect Ricken to vanish upon age up at some point, especially since he’s not even listed in create-a-sim…that is if grandma doesn’t go first. It’s a race!

I didn’t choose the hair or anything btw, the game did. Spitting image of Dad#1.

Twin #1

Courting Bentley

This is Bentley, he’s a personal trainer at the gym in San Myshuno and until meeting him, I was pretty convinced that either a rando townie or Bridget would be the new legacy heir. Look at the pink hair and the green eyes, it’s definitely must be him. Problem 1: Bentley is an older young adult and Harry is still a teen (a couple of days from age up). Problem 2: Bentley has 2 children (I peeked in MCCC). I also don’t know what his romantic preferences are.

One thing that you should know about my legacy challenge play style is that it’s less of a “let’s play house” bit and more of a Game of Thrones scenario, particularly later in the challenge or whenever I start getting bored of the game (what’s the point of even playing The Sims if it’s not at least a little bit unhinged half the time). Bentley, as mentioned above, has 2 kids and having older children outside of the “royal lineage” just won’t suffice! So what do we do? Stalk him and find out where he lives of course, and then try to set everything on fire with magic.

Generation 6: Bentley Sigworth

Traits: Active, Erratic, Bookworm
Discovered Traits: Cheerful, Family-Oriented
Adult Aspiration: Purveyor of Potions (Complete), Mansion Baron (Complete), Bodybuilder
Maxed Skills: Fitness
Career:

It’s worth noting that he’s an adult, not young adult at the time of marriage. There’s a whole ‘nother story revolving around his courtship process. I think….I think Gen 7 heir requirement is going to be pink hair.

Purveyor of Potions took a ridiculous amount of time to complete for whatever reason.
