Squires Legacy Info

Gender Law: Equality
Bloodline Law: Strict Traditional
Heir Law: Variable. Heir selection rule is subject to change between generations depending on what I find to be the most interesting. Most of the time, I just pick the sim that has inherited a desired trait (eye color, hair color, etc).
Lot Location: The 50×40 lot in San Sequoia 64×64 lot in Chestnut Ridge

Traits

I was previously using the trait roller on the official legacy challenge page, but repeatedly filling out traits is annoying. For this challenge I do a dice roll with 1d4. Each trait has a 1/3 chance to be inherited from one parent, a 1/3 chance to be inherited from the other parent, and a 1/3 chance to be random. Basically roll a die and refer to teh chart below:

1d4Trait
1Inherit from heir, see next chart
2Inherit from spouse, see next chart
3Random
4Reroll
If an option to inherit from a parent is selected, proceed to the next table to pick the actual trait
1d4Trait
1Parent trait 1
2Parent trait 2
3Parent trait 3
4Your choice 🙂
  • Parental Traits are in chronological order as listed on their sim page (Parental trait 1 is the trait chosen during childhood age up, etc)
  • If the selected trait is not valid (for example: A trait that cannot be chosen during childhood), either roll again or choose the next trait
  • If for some reason no traits from the parent are valid, roll a trait for the other parent

House Rules

  • Aspirations are completely random and not inherited. A new aspiration may be manually selected if and only if the previous one is completed
  • Obnoxious adult aspirations may be rerolled. There are a few, mainly the location specific aspirations that just aren’t practical to do if you don’t live in that world or just aren’t fun.
  • Also, I reroll teen aspirations that require adulthood to complete
  • Self Discovery traits must be taken
  • When in doubt: Always choose chaos

The Legacy Cat

  • A single pet may be age cheated into immortality. This pet must be neutered
  • (I can’t be bothered with pet breeding and like having a legacy familiar)

Notes: Name chosen randomly by the game.

  • No scoring because I can’t bother to keep track of a point card.
  • I am not super strict about money rules once the challenge surpasses a certain threshold; It doesn’t really matter if a sim moves in with 20k when have over a million in the bank…
  • The main lot has been converted to a residential rental lot in generation 2 after the For Rent expansion so that I can have spares live autonomously on the lot. Doing this I’ve noticed significantly reduces the family bills so my personal rule is that the rental conversion can only be done once money is no longer a problem
